Nigeria's Last Survivor in 2015 Saudi Arabia Hajj Stampede Returns Home

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that the remaining survivor in the tragic 2015 Hajj stampede has returned back to the country.

NAHCON has confirmed the return of Hajiya Fatima Isa from Sokoto State, the last Nigerian pilgrim who survived the September 24, 2015 Hajj stampede in Saudi Arabia.
 
Spokesman of the commission Alhaji Uba Mana said this on Thursday, January 28 in a statement.
 
Nigeria lost 724 pilgrims, according to the commission in the stampede mostly from Sokoto State with 44 others declared missing. 
 
Others were admitted for treatment in various hospitals including the East Jeddah Hospital where Hajiya Isa was discharged from.
 
According to Mana, the pilgrim arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on January 22 on board a Med-View Airline Flight VL0202, accompanied by staff of the Nigerian Consulate in Jeddah.
