The fight against the Boko Haram sect has become a joint effort by Nigeria and its neigboring countries.
According to reports from Reuters, the President of Benin Republic, Boni Yayi has revealed that all the countries involved in the fight will meet on Thursday, June 11, 2015, in Abuja.
Yayi said that significant steps will be taken towards establishing a joint task force against the terrorist group at the summit. He also said that his Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari is "very determined" to end the insurgency unleashed by Boko Haram.
"The discussions we have had with him reassures us. We are going to put an end to this odious phenomenon ... This summit will be decisive,” Yayi said, told Reuters.
Benin was not part of the initial force formed against the sect but has now agreed to join.
