Senator Magnus Abe made headlines in the South-south part of Nigeria following his dramatic act of walking barefooted in riverine areas to feel the plight of his people.

Senator Magnus Abe did the unimaginable by walking on bare feet to tour the riverine communities in order to identify with people of his senatorial district in Rivers State.
 
This act of humility stunned his followers as he was heavily applauded during the visitation exercise that afforded him the opportunity to garner their needs towards ameliorating their problems.
 
Magnus Ngei Abe (born 24 May 1965) is a trained Legal practitioner and politician who was elected Senator for the Rivers South East constituency of Rivers State, Nigeria in the April 2011 Federal elections. He ran on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform.
