In what will come across as a really startling development, tension is currently high in the Alulu community of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State over the alleged killing of a middle-aged woman, Uwaalu Justina, by a suspected relative.

A community resident, identified as Nneka, told DAILY POST on Wednesday that the children of the deceased became apprehensive when she did not return from the farm over the weekend, prompting a search party for her.

She said the children, during their search on the farm, only saw her clothes and sandals.

She said after the incident was reported to the villagers, they went to the said farm for a thorough search only to see the corpse buried improperly in a shallow grave within her farmland and exhumed the body back to the family.

The source further stated that the body had been deposited in a nearby mortuary while the suspected family member of the deceased who allegedly vowed to eliminate her had run away with his family upon discovery of this crime and his house has been set ablaze by angry residents.

When contacted on phone, the police spokesman in the state, Micheal Abattam, confirmed the report, revealing that the police authorities will unravel the real circumstances behind the murder of the victim.

The Police Public Relations Officer said,”We are aware of the incident and it’s under investigation.”
