Efforts are currently being made to develop the local production of footwears in the eastern part of Nigeria with the Senate considering a contract of the production of military kits awarded to the local manufacturers.

Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe, a politician who was elected to the Abia-South Senatorial District of Abia State in the Senate has taken a few samples of military kits locally produced in Aba for presentation before the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
Reports have it that Saraki was impressed with the quality of the products but it is not clear yet if the contract of the production and supply of the military kits will be awarded to the Aba production company.
This is an initiative to develop the local industries, provide jobs for the teaming populace and with time generate foreign exchange from the exportation of Nigerian products. The senate share the picture on social media via its official Twitter account.
