The police women who are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital was sent by a landlady to arrest one of her tenants who was said to have resisted arrest, making the police women to resort to force.
The fight started when the tenant insisted that she must take her bath before going to the station with the police women, the police officers refused and a fight started and other tenants joined in beaten and striping the officers naked.
The Landlady, Mrs. Okebuse claimed she had issued the tenant quit notice and when they refused to leave she invited the police.
“When the police came to make arrest, they started fighting the police-women. I ran for my life and hid at the other compound.” Mrs. Okebuse said.
An eyewitness who explained the incident said, the tenant was taking her bath when the officers came for the arrest and she pleaded to finish her bath but the officers refused.
Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, who confirmed the incident, expressed disappointment over the attack, saying the police would not take it lightly. He said the attackers who have been arrested and charged to court would be made to face the law.
