Incredible! Nigeria's High Jump Queen, Amata Doreen Breaks 8-Year Old Record

Team Nigeria athlete, Doreen Amata has broken her eight year-old Nigeria indoor record in Slovakia on Thursday, January 4.

 
Nigeria's female track and field athlete, Doreen Amata, who specialises in the high jump event, has broken her eight year-old indoor record at the Banskobystricka High Jump Meeting in Slovakia on Thursday.
 
The high jump queen improved the record she set in 2008 by four centimetres from 1.89 centimetres to 1.93 centimetres thereby moving within four centimetres of qualification for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland, USA next month.‎ 1.97m is the entry standard for the tournament in March.
 
 
Amata who represented Nigeria at the 2008 Olympic Games, finishing in 16th place in the overall-rankings, is however expected ‎for the World Indoors as she is currently sixth on the IAAF top list of performers so far this year as long as the ranking stays like that till March 7, 2016 when qualification period closes.
 
Two Nigerians, shot putter Stephen Mozia and quartermiler ‎Rilwan Adekunle Fasasi have however qualified for the tournament in Portland. Mozia qualified as a result of his national record-breaking 21.11m late January, which is far above the 20.50m IAAF standard for qualification while Fasasi ran 46. 68 seconds in the 400m on the 30th of January, 2016 in Arizona, USA to qualify for
