The Minister of Communications, Adebayor Shittu has spoken out what made President Muhammadu Buhari appoint more Yoruba folks into key positions in his government.

Barrister Adebayo Shittu, Nigeria's Communication Minister has revealed why the Yoruba folks were given key portfolios to oversee in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister, who spoke in an interview with Vanguard newspaper, stated that “our credentials of incorruptibility, great passion, selflessness and dynamism are the selling points.”
He stated further, “if you look at the antecedents of all of us, ministers from Yorubaland, you would agree with me that these are people of impeccable character, who have had knowledge update in public life and have the commitment.”
The minister promised that he and his colleagues of Yoruba extraction would do their best to justify the confidence reposed on them by Buhari, stressing that “we appreciate the great favour the President has done to us.”
“Mr. President is the model that everybody has to follow. If he was not confident that we could perform, he wouldn’t have done it the way he did it. So, I believe that we would not disappoint Mr. President and also, largely, we would not disappoint the Nigerian people,” Shittu stated.
