Oh No! Two Wedding Guests Die In Jigawa Accident, Others Injured

He said it happened Saturday evening at about 2000hrs, along Hadejia/Kano Road by Boarding Primary School, Ringim town.

 

In what will come across as a really tragic development, two persons have perished in an accident in Jigawa State.

The two persons were confirmed dead in a fatal accident involving thirty-nine wedding guests in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.

He said it happened Saturday evening at about 2000hrs, along Hadejia/Kano Road by Boarding Primary School, Ringim town.

Adam explained that the accident involved a BTW Toyota Costa, white in colour, with registration No FTA 458 HV KAT STA, belonging to College of Health Science & Technology Funtua, Katsina State.

He said the driver, along with 38 passengers, were from Hadejia to Katsina after they had attended a friend’s wedding in Hadejia Local Government of Jigawa State.

He said on reaching Ringim Boarding Primary school, he rammed into a parked truck, with registration No RNG 580 XC driven by one Ibrahim Hafizu of Unguwa Uku Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State.

The police spokesman said fourteen persons sustained various degrees of injuries and were all rushed to Ringim General Hospital for medical attention.

He said two persons were confirmed dead, while12 others sustained various degrees of injuries and are receiving treatment.

“Two persons, one Usman Ibrahim and Ahmadu Hamisu died while twelve others sustained injuries,” the police spokesman said.

He noted that the Truck’s driver was arrested and that investigation was ongoing.
