An Air Force general stunned the audience during a press briefing when he suddenly seemed to loose consciousnesses and fainted.
An American Air Force General fainted at the podium during a press briefing about an £83 billion budget meeting.
Major General James Martin, deputy assistant secretary for budget under the US Air Force's Financial Management and Comptroller officer, collapsed at the Pentagon.
He was discussing the future of the F-35 program in a meeting room when he fell forward at the lectern.
The officer appeared to lose consciousness for several seconds, falling onto Air Force Deputy for Budget Carolyn Gleason who tried to hold his head up. Several other members of the Air Force then rushed in to help Martin, encouraging him to drink water and take a seat before later escorting him off the stage.
Ms Gleason picked up the rest of the meeting for Martin.
The Air Force's fiscal 2017 budget unveiling took place on earlier this week, on February 9.
The F-35 fighter plane has recently made its first transatlantic crossing, touching down in the US on February 5 after a seven hour flight from Lajes Air Base, Portugal.
Ms Gleason joked: "That's what the F-35 will do to you."
Air Force spokeswoman Major Melissa Milner told Air Force Times that Martin was taken to hospital as a precaution but that he is now 'OK' and is back at work.
