FIFA has postponed the bidding process for the 2026 World Cup following allegations and probe of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments.
FIFA Secretary General, Jerome Valcke, said it was “nonsense” to kick off the process in the current state.
Former Super Eagles Coach, Degboye Onigbinde, who spoke on the postponement said the bidding process has nothing to do with the current allegation rocking the world football body.
“2026 is still a long time from now. So it has little or no significance to the current problem rocking them. Probably they merely want to give bidding countries chance to articulate their plans", Onigbinde said.
