The Federal Government in a bid to sanitize the heavily polluted civil service has exposed the presence of thousands of ghost workers milking the government without service.

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun yesterday afternoon told Senate Committee on Finance that the 23,000 ghost workers unraveled in the Federal Civil Service would be handed over to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speaking when she appeared before the committee, the Minister said banks that connived with the workers to pad the Federal government payroll are going to be prosecuted too.

"We will not only sack them, we will ensure the recovery of the money they have been collecting over the years from the Federal government, "
she said.
