Commotion As Father And His Son Drown In Kano Well

The duo lost their lives in Sabon Garin Bauchi, Wudil Local Government Area, while draining water from well.

 

Malam Bala, a 60-year-old father, and his 35-year-old son, Sunusi Bala, have died.

Both men drowned on Wednesday in Kano.

State Fire Service spokesman, Saminu Abdullahi disclosed that the incident occurred Tuesday morning.

In a statement, Abdullahi said an emergency call was made to the Wudil fire station at about 11:30 a.m by one Isma’ila Idris.

“A father and his son were called to drain a well, they had successfully drained it.

”But, the son went back into the well to clear it when he was trapped and suffocated.

“His father went after him to rescue him, when he also got trapped and suffocated due to the lack of oxygen inside the well”, Abdullahi said.

The victims were brought out of the well unconscious and later confirmed dead.

Abdullahi added that the bodies have been handed over to Insp Felix Gowok of Wudil model police station.
