Man Narrowly Escapes Death After Being Pushed Into Rail Tracks in Front of an Oncoming Train

An old man who had an altercation with another man ended up being pushed into rail tracks even with a train coming on.

 
 
A man narrowly escaped an oncoming train with moments to spare after being pushed onto the rail tracks
 
Mirror Online reports that desperate station staff had to guide the terrified man off the tracks away from the live rail. He clambered back on to the platform just before the locomotive pulled into the station.
 
The 53-year-old victim suffered serious head injuries after banging his head on the track and may now require surgery.
 
The terrifying attack took place at East Croydon station following an argument on a train. The old man and another man were involved in an altercation on the 10.32pm Victoria to Chichester train, according to British Transport Police .
 
The fight spilled out on the platform before the old man was pushed onto the tracks.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Garden said: “This was a truly shocking attack. The 53-year-old victim was pushed onto the tracks and was left dazed after hitting his head on the rails.

“Staff acted quickly to guide him away from the live rail and make sure he got off the track moments before an oncoming train came through.

“He sustained serious injuries to his face which it is believed will require surgery.”
 
Detectives have spoken to several witnesses to the incident and are today issuing an image of a man who they want to speak to about the attack.
