According to a report in Punch, Nigerian Police officers and local hoodlums are currently in serious battle in the Oworonshoki area of Lagos state following the death of a 25-year-old man.
It was gathered that the man identified as Monsuru, was killed on Sunday evening at a Valentine’s Day party held in the neighbourhood.
Following Monsuru’s death, some of his friends who are hoodlums, reportedly mobilised to avenge his death which led to the response of the police officers.
It was learnt that Oworonshoki is presently 'on fire' as the warring parties are still at loggerheads while two others have been injured in the clash.
Fresh reports emanating from the area have it that a clash between rival cult gangs has ensued and according to eyewitnesses, the battle started around midnight.
