A heartless man has dealt a cruel fate on his pregnant wife over a disagreement as he set her ablaze in their living room and left her to burn to death.

The devilish man from Kikopey, Nakuru, Kenya is being held at the Gilgil police station.
“He had lit a fire in the living room but when I tried to get out, I caught fire. The door locked itself and fell down,” says tearful Njoki, his wife.
According to a report by NTV, 22-year-old Njoki Ndung’u was rescued from her burning house by neighbours who rushed her to the St Mary’s mission hospital where she is nursing burn wounds.
“He started by burning mattresses and when neighbours asked, he said he was burning bedbugs,” narrates a neighbour, adding that the two have had constant fights in the two years they have been living together.
Gender based violence is prevalent in Kenya, with a recent survey indicating that 42 per cent of Kenyan women aged between 15 and 42 support beating by husband.
Some of the justifications given for beating include denying husband sex, burning food, neglecting children and arguing with husband, reports News24.
