Mikel Obi Set to Break Kanu Nwankwo's Record in the UEFA Champions League

As Chelsea gears up to take on Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG) in the round of 16, when the Champions League resumes on February 16, Mikel Obi is set to break the record set by Nigerian football legend, Kanu Nwankwo.

All the anticipation for european football is over now as action returns in the UEFA Champions League tomorrow.
 
Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi is set to become the Nigerian with the highest number of caps if Chelsea football club of England beat Paris Saint Germaine and get through to quarter-final stage of the competition this season. 
 
So far, Mike Obi already has 56 appearances and is four matches behind Nwankwo Kanu, who has 60. The Jos-born player who joined the Blues from Lynn Oslo in 2006, has played an average of 37 games per season in all competitions. 
 
The 28-year-old was also a part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2011-2012 season. Chelsea will take on Paris Saint-Germaine in the round of 16, when the Champions League resumes on February 16.
