Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect cut plain white papers in size of money and give them to the POS operator for deposit.
The suspect, Chisom Nweke
A 26-year-old man identified as Chisom Nweke of Umuawulu, Awka along Amawbia roundabout has been arrested by operatives of the Anambra state police command for allegedly defrauding POS operators using charms.
A statement from the public relations officer of the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, says the suspect confessed to using charms to defraud POS operators within Awka and its environs.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect cut plain white papers in size of money and give them to the POS operator for deposit.
Efforts are in placed to arrest other gang members.
