A massive container ship has lost control, crashing into a sea port and sending pedestrians scampering away in horror.
A surveillance footage has shown the shocking moment pedestrians fled for their lives after a container ship runs aground in Thailand.
The video shows locals just managing to jump out of the way as they realise the massive vessel is heading straight towards them.
The footage of the incident in Bangkok, Thailand, shows the cargo ship, Xetha Bhum, straying towards a pedestrian walkway and crashing into the concrete.
Mirror Online reports that the 146-metre container ship had left Bangkok Port moments earlier, but had been affected by poor weather conditions and strong currents, causing it to become unmanageable and run aground on the banks of Chao Phraya River.
The local coast guard reported no civilian injuries, but the video shows curious tourists moving out the way before the ship hits the walkway.
None of the ship’s crew were injured.
The container ship suffered several hull breaches below the waterline, but still managed to stay afloat until two coast guard tugboats returned it to Bangkok Port for full inspection and repairs.
