A woman has stunned workers of a fast food chain, Subway, after she gave birth in the toilet and walked away leaving the baby behind.
Mary Grace Trinidad, aged 38, was arrested by the police for the cruel act after they tracked her down by following a trail of blood down the Californian street on Monday.
They released CCTV footage showing the woman stagger out of the West Covina restaurant after she had been in the toilet for ten minutes.
Her baby was found after a staff heard him crying in the bathroom and almost drowned in the toilet. The placenta was seen hanging from the toilet.
The child had to be rushed to intensive care but is now in a more stable condition and has survived. The police revealed they had already been looking for Trinidad for alleged drugs offences.
Trinidad was wanted for a previous narcotics charge. According to police her bail will be set at $2million.
