The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), in a statement on Monday, October 24, 2022, said Musa was convicted for harbouring two victims for s3xual exploitation.
A 40-year-old man identified as Musa Ya'u has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment for s3xual exploitation in Maiduguri.
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), in a statement on Monday, October 24, 2022, said Musa was convicted for harbouring two victims for s3xual exploitation.
The statement said Musa was arraigned before Hon. Justice Aishatu B. Kumalia of the State High Court, Maiduguri and convicted for the offence on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
"The charge was filed on September 13th, 2022. The convict, a 40-year-old male, was charged to court on two counts for obtaining two victims and engaging in repeated s3xual activity with them; a violation of section 16(1) of the amended Trafficking in Persons Prohibition Enforcement and Administration Act 2015," the statement read.
"The convict received a total sentence of 8 years in jail, divided into 2 concurrent terms of 4 years each."
