American Govt. Awards $10.5m Grant Money To Help IDPs In Nigeria

The US government has awarded a grant of $10.5 million to Nigeria, to aid the IDPs in the North-Eastern part of the country.

 
America has just awarded a grant of $10.5 million to help in the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in North-East Nigeria.
 
This was disclosed on Thursday, June 11, 2015, via a statement released by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
 
 
It reads in part:
 
“The grant will support the activities of the United Nation’s Population Fund (UNFPA), UNICEF, and the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve access to health care services for affected populations in Boko Haram affected states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states.”

“With this new funding, total U.S. humanitarian assistance since the start of the crisis is nearly $44 million.”
 
The Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria has left thousands dead and many others homeless.
