Oduduwa Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has reacted to the attack on commuters by gunmen on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The activist said he has not slept since the incident as he fears for his people after the Tuesday attack.

Suspected kidnappers, who were dressed in military camouflage, attempted to abduct passengers in an 18-seater bus on Tuesday.

The vehicle was reportedly heading for Lagos from Ibadan, Oyo State when the incident happened.

The gunmen stormed the road from a bush before the Sagamu Interchange and started shooting at the bus.

However, the intervention of policemen in the area foiled the attack.

Reacting to the incident, Sunday Igboho said in an Instagram post on Thursday that the incident is part of the reasons he and others are clamouring for an independent Yoruba Nation.

He said, “I’ve not had a proper sleep since I heard the news of what happened on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

“It’s not like I’ve not heard about the occurrences that happened at the same place in the past but this time around, I fear for my people.

“This is one of the reasons we want Yoruba Nation, so our people can be protected and not exploited.”

Sunday Igboho, who is in Benin Republic, added, “Only if we can be in unity, I strongly believe in Yoruba nation. I do not want my people to be a pawn used in the political games. God help Yoruba Nation.”
