Driver Burnt To Death, Two Hospitalised In Enugu Crash

The accident occurred at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Junction along Enugu -Abakiliki Road, Emene, Enugu on Thursday.

 

In what will come across as a really shocking development, a mini bus driver has been roasted to death in an accident.

Two others were seriously injured in the crash which happened in Enugu, the Enugu State capital.

The accident occurred at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Junction along Enugu -Abakiliki Road, Emene, Enugu on Thursday.

The deceased, who was driving on top speed, was said to have hit another vehicle trying to cross the road with his vehicle sumersaulting before going up in flames.

The Enugu State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Joseph Tobby, who confirmed the incident, said the bus driver was burnt to death when the accident happened.

He said two persons in the other vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital by his men.

According to him: “Somebody was crossing the road, the mini bus hit the person and somersaulted. It later bursted into flames

‘We had to call fire service to come and extinguish the fire. The police and army were there too to help.

“Eventually, we had to take the injured to the hospital and deposited the dead to the morgue.

“We must find something to do about the incessant crashes along the Emene axis”.
