Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini has resigned from his position as the the speaker of Taraba state House of Assembly.
His resignation notice was contained in a letter transmitted to the lawmakers on Wednesday and was read by the Deputy Speaker, Hammanadama Ibn-Abdullahi who stood as Speaker pro-tempo during the sitting.
His resignation took everyone by surprise as there was no form of skirmishes among the members of the House.
“My resignation is on personal ground. I wish to thank honourable members for their support and cooperation while I served as the speaker of this honourable House,” he said.
