Nigerian Registered Agusta Helicopter Crash-lands in Benin Republic

A Nigerian pilot has crashed his helicopter in the Republic of Benin while on a routine flight to the country from Lagos


An Augusta 109 helicopter flown by a Nigerian pilot, Captain Makinde crashed yesterday in the Republic of Benin while on a routine flight to the country from Lagos.
 
Saharareporters learnt that the chopper was individually operated under Aero contractors license.

A source at the Accident Investigation Bureau in Nigeria stated that the agency is still awaiting further information about the crash. They said preliminary information available to the agency indicated that the chopper crashed around 4:25 PM local time when the rear of the chopper clipped an electric pole as it was landing.
 
There were no injuries reported to the two crewmen on board.
