Buhari who arrived in the state from Yola was flanked by President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, Minister of Power Abubakar Aliyu and governors of Yobe and Borno states among others.
President Buhari has commissioned the Yobe international cargo airport in Damaturu which was named after him.

The airport is now to be known as Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport, Damaturu.
The airport is one of the legacy projects lined up for commissioning on Monday 9th January 2023.
Other projects executed by the Gov. Buni administration and are waiting to be inaugurated by the President include an estate with over 3, 000 houses, four modern markets and a 300-bed capacity maternal, newborn and child health complex, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
