After being shut down for 2 years due to Boko Haram attacks, the Maiduguri International Airport in Borno State was re-opened on June 9.
 
Days after, the airport recorded its first flight on Saturday, June 13.
 
The re-elected State Governor, Kashim Shettima, was aboard the aircraft that made its first commercial landing at the airport this afternoon.
