Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson's sister, Miss Nancy Dickson, has been freed by her abductors, Punch reports. It is not clear if ransom was paid before her release.

It will be recalled that the 26-year-old Nancy, said to be the last child of the Dicksons, was abducted on December 19, 2015 by gunmen at her shop on Okaka road, Yenagoa, who reportedly drove in an ash Lexus Jeep.

Her captors were said to have trailed her to her shop and whisked her away to an unknown place about 2:50pm on the fateful day.

A ranking official of the Bayelsa State Government confirmed the incident but said official statement would be released soon.

The spokesman for Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, said the command had not been fully briefed on the release.
