INEC Staff And One Other Arraigned For Allegedly Selling Voters Cards In Enugu

Ndukwe said investigation has been concluded and that the case has been charged to court, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and the suspects arraigned accordingly.

A 41-year-old woman, Chinwendu Nnamani has been apprehended by police officials serving in the State CID of Enugu State Command, on January 31, after a video of her allegedly selling INEC Permanent Voter's Cards (PVCs) at the sum of one thousand naira (N1,000.00), at Emene Enugu surfaced online.

A statement released by the state police command, DSP Daniel Ndukwu, on Wednesday, February 8, says also arrested is one Nkiruka Patience Obinna aged 38, identified as an INEC Staff and alleged to have given the said Cards to the first suspect for distribution to the actual owners.

Ndukwe said investigation has been concluded and that the case has been charged to court, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and the suspects arraigned accordingly.

He mentioned that the suspects were granted bail and the case was adjourned to February 15, 2023 for further hearing.
