A community leader and chief priest has been murdered by unknown gunmen who traced him to his home and shot him numerous times.
An 82-year-old Chief Priest (Ohen-Ogba) and community leader of Aruogba in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Clifford Omosomwan has been brutally murdered by unknown gunmen.
It was gathered that the man was shot after the assailants gained access into his apartment at about 1am on Thursday.
A source revealed that, “The partially blind man was shot twice in the head at close range.”
The man's body was later deposited in the military hospital on Airport Road in Benin, the state capital. The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiodun Osifo is yet to confirm the story.
It would be recalled that there had been reports of violence in Aruogba community for over a year, which also claimed the life of the assistant head of the community, Mr. Goodluck Uwumahongie, who was beheaded in January 2015.
