Influential Anambra state politician, Victor Umeh, who was arrested by the Department of State Security (DSS) yesterday, has received a hero's welcome in his home-town as he was released today.

reported it here earlier today that the Department of State Services (DSS), late on Thursday, arrested Chief Sir Victor Umeh, a former chairman of APGA who is the party’s candidate for the postponed Anambra Central Senatorial re-run election.
Few hours ago, the APGA chieftain, who was arrested at his Aguluzigbo country home in Anambra State and later taken to Abuja for questioning on his alleged involvement and sponsorship of the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),
was released by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The party's Deputy Secretary, Chief Jerry Obasi,who confirmed his release, said Umeh's arrest was politically motivated.
Meanwhile, the influential politician returned to his country home and was received and celebrated like a hero by his supporters.
