Lagos Train Accident Extremely Sad – Buhari Prays For Victims

In a statement issued by Buhari’s media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, on Thursday, the President said that the accident was distressing and extremely sad.

 

Nigeria's number one man, President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the horrific train/BRT crash.

He expressed sympathy over the accident involving a Lagos State BRT staff bus and a train at the Shogunle area of Ikeja.

In a statement issued by Buhari’s media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, on Thursday, the President said that the accident was distressing and extremely sad.

He said, “The accident at the level crossing involving the train and the BRT staff bus is distressing and extremely sad. I pray for the souls of the deceased and quick recovery of the many who were injured.”

Buhari also commended the Lagos State authorities and the Federal Government agencies for promptly getting involved in relief work.

Recall that a Lagos BRT bus and a train carrying workers to their places of work in Lagos collided on Thursday morning, killing about six people and leaving many injured.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State had already declared three days of mourning for victims of the accident.
