A son has been given the shock of his life after his father meted severe punishment on him for stealing meat from the food he bought.

A 45-year-old man identified as Alex has brutally inflicted deep cut on his 8-year-old son's leg after beating him to a pulp. The incident happened on Wednesday at Gbazango, Kubwa, Abuja.

According to reports, the father took to such measures after his son allegedly stole and refused to do his homework.

Dailytrust reveals that 'the suspect claimed it was out of the deep love he had for the child, Chukwufunaya,  that he chose to discipline him that way, adding that he had bought food for his four children and the victim stole the meat out of the four packs of food.'

“The suspect also disclosed that when he asked the boy, he denied and he (father) had to go back to the restaurant to accuse them of giving him food without meat.”

The victim who is now at the hospital is suffering the pains of the deep cut and fracture to his leg.

It was gathered that the man was reported to the police by the son's school authorities, and that the man has history of abuse although he had been single-handedly catering for the children, as the wife, who is also alleged to be a victim of the same abuse, had since been forced out of her matrimonial home.

The story was confirmed by the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sabo who said that the man is presently under police custody at the Kubwa General Hospital where he is receiving treatment having complained of high blood pressure.
