While celebrating his 79th Birthday, the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has described the EFCC as another noise making agency of government, a toothless bulldog.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo who turned 79th birthday on Saturday, while celebrating, took a swipe at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and described it as a toothless bulldog after the exit of the pioneer chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
 
While speaking at the event held at the International Conference Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Obasanjo said it's regretful that EFCC has become all about noise and grandiose shows. He described the agency as having lost focus. Ribadu who was in attendance, could only but concur.
 
Obasanjo said: “As all know when Nuhu Ribadu was handling the EFCC, he handled it in such a way that people coined the saying that the fear of Ribadu is the beginning of wisdom.

“And the the thing you will ask is, how did we go down? How did we lose that, how did we, Nuhu Ribadu is still here, he is still alive, the institution that we started together is still there, what made the institution to become a toothless bull dog?”
