Terrorists Kill Three, Abduct 70 Others In Niger Communities

According to a member of the Adunu community in Paikoro, John Lazarus, the terrorists began the attacks around 8 am on Tuesday and held the communities hostage till 3 pm.

 

Terrorists have gone wild, striking in Niger State, The Nation reports.

Three people, including a village head, were killed and 70 others were abducted in six communities in Munya and Paikoro local government areas of Niger State by the terrorists.

It was learnt the Village head of Beni was among those killed while the son of the village head of Kwagana was also killed with one other in Adunu community in Paikoro local government area.

According to a member of the Adunu community in Paikoro, John Lazarus, the terrorists began the attacks around 8 am on Tuesday and held the communities hostage till 3 pm.

He said that people had to stay in the bush all through the night in fear of another launch of attacks by the terrorists.

Calling on the government and security agencies to come to their aid, Lazarus said the attacks have been sustained in the past three months and the government seems not to be doing anything about it.

Niger Commissioner for Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar and police spokesman were yet to respond to enquiries on the attack.
