As the Ondo gubernatorial election draws near, the APC seems growing in numerical strength against the PDP as dissatisfied members are currently leaving the party.

Over 500 members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo East and West local government areas of Ondo state defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) at the weekend.
The defectors, including former top official in Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s government, said they parted ways with the present administration because of its deceitful nature.
The new APC members who held their brooms, the symbol of the party firmly are mainly supporters of the APC leader in the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Hon Bola Ilori.
Ilori, who was the former Special Adviser to Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Environmental and Sanitation matters, said that the APC was receiving new members on daily basis.
Former Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) popularly known as Aketi is strongly tipped to win the gubernatorial primaries in the APC.
