Residents of Onireke, Opposite Ojo cantonment in Lagos state came out in their numbers to protest against alleged voter suppression and attacks by suspected political thugs in the state.

There have been widespread reports on social media of attacks by thugs on voters in the ongoing Governorship and State House of Assembly elections taking place in Nigeria.

In the Onireke area of Ojo scores of residents could be seen chanting "we must vote" as they marched with sticks, bottles and plants to the polling unit.
