The singer explained that the song was about a lady he met and should not be crucified for it.

Hip-hop artist, Obi Lawson, popularly known as Obidiz, has reacted to the threat by gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo to file a N2 billion lawsuit against him for unauthorized use of her name in a song.

Recall that Mercy Chinwo had through her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, written to Obidiz ordering him to take down his song entitled ‘Mercy Chinwo’ from all music digital platforms for derogatorily using her name and image in secular music audio and video.

She warned that failure to do so would attract legal action including approaching the court to award N2 billion damages against him.

Reacting via his Twitter page on Saturday, Obidiz said he only sang a song, adding that he didn’t commit murder.

He explained that the song was about a lady he met.

He wrote, “Na song I sing I no kill person.

“Mercy Chinwo for church o but for club na Cardi B set’ Talks about a girl I met, na she I sing about but una wan crucify me,”
Obidiz said.
