Court Convicts Mechanic For N310k Fraud In Maiduguri

Justice Kumaliya sentenced Mohammed to 6 months imprisonment with an option of N50, 000.00 fine.

Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, convicted a mechanic identified as Baba Mohammed on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Baba who was arraigned by the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was prosecuted on one count amended charge of cheating to the tune of Three Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (N310, 000.00).

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge. Consequently, the prosecution counsel, S.O Saka, prayed the court to convict him accordingly.

Justice Kumaliya sentenced Mohammed to 6 months imprisonment with an option of N50, 000.00 fine.
