A TV Reporter doing his morning news routine got the shock of his life after a car from the road came swerving at him nearly killing him.
Alex Savidge
A TV Reporter, Alex Savidge, was making a live broadast when the routine was marred with a really scary incident.
Savidge, a reporter for Bay Area TV station KTVU, was doing a live remote about a train derailment in Alameda County when he almost got derailed himself.
Savidge was standing in a 7-11 parking lot when a car suddenly came careening towards him and Chip Vaughan, his cameraman.
Vaughan yelled at Savidge to jump out of the way. Luckily, Savidge jumped to the right since the car was coming on the left side. The car hit a light stand, not Savidge or Vaughan.
The shaken reporter was emotional during his next live shot.
"I am grateful to be OK, that's all I can say," he said on air.
What made the car come off the road is still unclear, but police are investigating crash.
