A man who was rather careless while making a dash across a live rail has narrowly escaped being crushed to death by a moving train.
A man had a narrow escape when he ran across railway tracks and into the path of a moving train.
He was caught on CCTV crossing the tracks in Melbourne, Australia, and did not seem to notice the fast-approaching train.
Luckily for him, he was able to jump out of the way just in time.
The incident happened earlier in the week and prompted the train service to issue a safety warning.
Over the past year, there have been 455 "near miss" cases in the region, up from 378 the previous year.
A near miss is classed as an incident where train drivers have to take evasive action.
