Impeached Ondo House of Assembly Speaker and Deputy Reinstated

 

After about 5 hours of close door meeting with Gov. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state, Ondo House of Assembly lawmakers have reinstated the recently impeached Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.

All actions taken yesterday to remove the speaker and deputy have been reversed.

 

Rt. Hon Jumoke Akindele remains Ondo state House of Assembly Speaker, according to a press release issued by the legislative house.

The release read: "The Ondo State House of Assembly says it has resolved its internal issues and resolved to allow the status quo ante on the leadership of the house."

This was also confirmed by the House Committee Chairman on information, Hon. Olamide George while addressing journalists in Akure, the State capital.
