BREAKING News: Massive Explosion Rocks Central Bank of Nigeria in Calabar

According to eye witness reports, a massive explosion has currently rocked the office of the Calabar, Cross Rivers state branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

 
 
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branch office in Calabar, the Cross River state capital, has been hit by by an explosion.
 
A witness who spoke with TheCable on phone, described what he heard as 'a deafening explosion', saying it occurred 'around 1pm'.
 
A source at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, disclosed to Premium Times that scores of injured persons were seen being brought into the emergency unit of the hospital. "I could count up to seven people with serious burns," the source said.

As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the explosion and casualties is yet unknown.
