According to a source, the police used sacks to evacuate the dead bodies.
An explosion that rocked Isa town in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, around 12 noon on Sunday, claimed the lives of five victims.
A source who disclosed this, on Sunday, said, “I was at home when I heard a loud noise. When I came out, I discovered that it was the cylinder of a welder that exploded.
“Three people, including the owner of the shop, died instantly, and their bodies were dismembered''.
He said the police used sacks to evacuate their parts, adding that during the process, he heard of another injured person died while in the hospital
He said a trader within the vicinity lost his hand and was rushed to the hospital.
Chairman of the council, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, confirmed the explosion, but could not ascertain the number of dead victims, because he was not in the town as at the time of incident
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, said he had not been briefed about the incident.
