Against protocol, the Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose on Sunday prostrated flat before the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on his arrival at the oba’s palace in Ile-Ife, Osun state.
Fayose was in Ife to attend the thanksgiving and wedding reception of the newly-wedded monarch.
While interacting with newsmen, Fayose said the first-class oba symbolizes unity and will bring developments to his people.
“By the office of the Ooni of Ife, he needs no message, knowing him as the direct son of Oduduwa, he has a direct communication with God, there is no doubt this Ooni will make impact beyond Yoruba land, beyond Nigeria, and he’s a blessing to us, we congratulate him.
“Ooni simply symbolizes the unity of Yoruba land and with the initiative of this Ooni, it is clear that he is God sent.” Fayose said.
Oba Ogunwusi had earlier in his welcome address thanked everyone for honouring his invitation. He also thanked God for making the day a reality as he starts a new life with his wife.
