Some terrified swimmers on a beach were captured on camera scampering to safety as a shark was spotted swimming just few spaces away.
Frenzied beachgoers scrambled to escape a shark spotted swimming mere yards away from children.
Panicked families rushed to safety as the tips of two black fins appeared perilously close to the shore of Hollywood Beach, Florida, USA.
As an elderly man and woman enjoy the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, people on the beach suddenly start screaming 'shark' at them to get their attention.
Within seconds the pair spot the fin and desperately wade through the chest height water towards the safe sand.
The unidentified species continues its path, heading worryingly towards children splashing around before they are also warned about the approaching shark.
Lisa Bernier shot the footage on the afternoon of Friday March 4 after disembarking from a cruise in Miami.
Lisa, from Quebec, Canada, said: 'It was very scary. Everyone was yelling 'shark' as we were worried for the elderly couple swimming not too far from it.
'As soon as the elderly couple realised what was going on, they rushed out of the water. I have no idea what species it was.
'It can't be too big as the water was not that deep but everyone was worried. You can see children playing in the water in the video.
'The parents of these kids ran in to save them. Everyone on the beach was watching at the shore.
'I spoke to the mother that ran in the water, and she said that she was terrified.'
According to Lisa, the beachgoers were too scared to go back into the water after the shark had swam out to deeper seas.
