BREAKING: Tinubu Swears Akume In As SGF

Former President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2017 presented the controversial bill to both chambers of the National Assembly, which seek to transfer the control of water resources from the states to the Federal Government.

Nigeria's number one man, President Bola Tinubu has sworn-in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), The Nation reports.

Akume was sworn in at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The brief event, which gathered dignitaries, including some serving and former Governors, saw Senator Akume taking his Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office around 11:06 am inside the Council Chambers of the Villa.

Among those who witnessed the ceremony were Vice President Kashim Shettima; Senate President Ahmed Lawan; Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan and wife of the new SGF, Mrs Regina Akume.
