Federal Allocation: The Amount Osun State Got in February Will Shock You (Images)

Osun state is currently trending on social media after receiving an all time low federal allocation in the month of February.

The Federal Accounts Allocation Committee responsible for the distribution of revenue accruing to the Federation Account between the Federal and State Governments and the Local Government on a monthly basis has released the size of revenue allocations made to the 36 different states in Nigeria in the month of February with Osun state getting the lowest allocation due to massive debts the state has been plunged into.
 
Osun state received a laughable sum of N6 million which was supposed to be in the region of N2. 422 billion under normal circumstances. After the deduction of about N2.416bn from the State's allocation, only a paltry N6.23million.
 
Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been unable to pay the salaries of state civil servant for several months due to the insolvency faced by his state.
 
Oil rich Akwa Ibom state received the highest allocation from the Federal Government last month.
