Police Arrest Three Suspects For Allegedly Gangr*ping Minor In Adamawa

The suspects lured the girl who boarded a tricycle from Mayo Belwa to Ngurore where they diverted behind Cottage Hospital in Mayo -Belwa and forcefully dragged her into a house and defiled her.

Three suspects in connection to the gang r*pe of a 15-year-old minor have been arrested by the Adamawa state police command in Mayo Belwa Local government Area.

The suspects identified as Hassan Nasir, 25years, a resident of Sabon Pegi Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area, Uzairu Dan Fulani, 25years, a resident of Gasabga ward Mayo belwa, Yola South local government Area and Yahaya Edward, 26, a resident of Sabon Pegi, Ngurore, Yola South Local government Area.

The police say the suspects lured the girl who boarded a tricycle from Mayo Belwa to Ngurore where they diverted behind Cottage Hospital in  Mayo -Belwa and forcefully dragged her into a certain house and  had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

The incident was reported  to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mayo Belwa by a relative of the victim which resulted to their arrest .

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the state Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola expressed worry over the unfortunate incident, and directed the officer in charge of Family Support Unit of the Command to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution in accordance with the extant laws.
